Remodel Trends for 2015

Has your home been feeling a bit outdated? Or, perhaps the home in which you live no longer suits the needs of yourself or your family.

Has your home been feeling a bit outdated? Or, perhaps the home in which you live no longer suits the needs of yourself or your family.  Rather than move, you could choose to remodel your home and make it better suit your needs.  By remodeling, you may just even end up with your dream home.  Remodeling can be a daunting task.  After all, you are making major structural changes to your home so you want to be sure that not only do they work well for your needs but you want to be sure it is an investment that will improve your property’s value.  If you decide you want to move or something comes up and you suddenly need to move in the next few years, you want that remodel you invested in to be current and on trend so that buyers remain interested.  And, if you never move that remodel will simply look stunning and current for yourself, your family and all of your guests.  Below we discuss remodeling trends that are happening in 2015.

1. Luxurious Bathrooms

  • When it comes to home remodels, few things are more popular than bathroom remodels.  More and more homeowners are looking to turn their bathrooms into their own personal spas.  Many people are knocking down the walls of their small bathrooms and expanding so that they can have big, luxurious bathrooms complete with large walk-in showers and big soaker tubs.  While many people have opted to skip the tub in the past, large freestanding soaker tubs have become a hot trend.

2. Custom Cabinetry

  • Custom cabinetry has made a big surge in home remodels.  Custom cabinetry allows for complete control of not only appearance but of features.  Depth, width, slow-close doors, pullout shelves and more can be right at your fingertips with custom cabinetry.  While it is a significant investment, it is certainly one that can pay off because it is sure to increase your home’s value.  And, as most homeowners will agree, the kitchen is the heart of the home.  Not only will you get to enjoy the beauty of custom cabinetry but you will be the envy of all your guests with such unique cabinetry.

3. Granite Counters

  • When it comes to countertops, granite still reigns supreme.  It is versatile, durable and beautiful so it is no wonder why it remains so popular.  But, one alternative that is rising in the ranks of popularity and should not be ignored is quartz countertops.

4. Custom Closets

  • A wire rack or a shelf does not a closet make.  Many people have decided that enough is enough and they are ready to organize their lives with a custom closet.  With a custom closet there is no one-size-fits-all approach and if you have a lot of shoes you can add more shoe racks.  If you have a lot of long gowns or suits that need to be hung, add more hanging space.  Want pull out drawers to store your jewelry or socks?  Great, you can have it!  Custom closet are one luxury that people are often reluctant to splurge on but once they do, wonder how they ever lived their lives without it.
